Jammu: IAF Saves Two Men in Daring Rescue Operation After They Got Stranded in Overflowing Tawi River, Watch Video

A video of the daring rescue operation by the IAF has also surfaced. The dramatic visuals show two men stranded on a pier in the middle of Tawi River after water level rises following heavy rains.

Jammu, August 19: Two men, who got stuck near an under-construction bridge after a sudden increase in the water level of Tawi River which flows through Jammu, have been rescued by the Indian Air Force (IAF). A video of the daring rescue operation by the IAF has also surfaced. The dramatic visuals show two men stranded on a pier in the middle of Tawi River after water level rises following heavy rains.

According to reports, four men were in Tawi River to fish when they witnessed a sudden increase in the river's flow due to heavy rains. As the water level started rising, two men somehow managed to swim to the river's bank and to safety. The other two climbed on a pier attached to one of the under-construction bridge's pillars. Two Men Get Stuck in Overflowing Tawi River:

An Indian Air Force helicopter was immediately pressed into service to rescue the men. The IAF chopper had to face some issues before they could reach near the site where the two men were stranded. The video shows the stranded men sitting on the pier with water gushing all around them. They had nowhere to go. Soon, the IAF helicopter arrives. IAF Conducts Daring Rescue Operation:

Once on the pier, the crew member attached harnesses to the two men's bodies and attached the harnesses to the rope. Subsequently, the men are pulled up to safety. The rope was lowered again to pull up the IAF crew member, bringing daring rescue mission to a successful end.
