Srinagar, Sept 18: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan went missing after Pakistan launched unprovoked firing along the International Border in Jammu's RS Pura sector. A search operation has been launched to trace him.

A senior officer, while speaking to news agency PTI, said a team of jawans has been assigned to find the missing personnel. The forces suspect him to be present near the fence area, if he has been injured in the firing from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Indian side targeted in the Pakistani firing have launched a retaliatory attack, the official said.
Cross-border firing between India and Pakistan have continued unabated over the past 15 years, despite the ceasefire agreement inked between two nations in 2003.
The change in civilian regime of Pakistan in July this year, with the election of Imran Khan as the Prime Minister, has not changed the country's adverse policy towards India, said Union Minister of State VK Singh on Monday.
"Don't expect a change in their India policy...He is a proxy of the military," said Singh, who has earlier served as the chief of the Indian Army.
