Jammu, November 1: Two terrorists were gunned down in Jammu and Kashmir after an encounter broke out between militants and security forces on Thursday. Reports inform that one of the three terrorists have been reportedly trapped. According to a tweet by ANI, the encounter broke at Zagoo Arizal area of Budgam. In the wake of the encounter, many vehicles in the area were damaged as locals pelt stones on vehicles after two terrorists were gunned down earlier in the day.
Col AK Nair, Commanding Officer, 53 RR confirmed that two terrorists were eliminated in the encounter. "We had been tracking this group for some time, they were here probably to create unrest for upcoming Panchayat elections. We have recovered two-AK 47s & one pistol", Nair added.

On October 21, seven civilians were killed after unused explosives went off in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. Reports by Police informed that these explosives belonged to three Jaish-e-Mohammed militants, who were gunned down in an encounter earlier that day. According to a PTI report, the incident took place at Laroo village in Kulgam district when security forces launched a search-and-cordon operation following intelligence report about the presence of militants. The report informs that security forces were carrying out routine clearance when they came under heavy stone pelting from a mob, which had cordoned off the encounter site.
