Sopore, March 21: Two policemen, including the station house officer (SHO) of Dangiwacha police station, were injured on Thursday in a grenade attack in Sopore district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier today, security forces launched a search and cordon operation in Baramulla district's Sopore. This comes days after the special police officer was shot dead at her home in South Kashmir's Shopian district.
According to reports, terrorists lobbed a grenade at security officials at Main Chowk Sopore in the north Kashmir district, said police officials to news agency Press Trust of India. A search operation has been launched to arrest the attackers. Earlier, a gunfight broke between security forces and militants in Kandi area of Sopore and Hajin Bandipora Today morning. Previously this month, a class nine student alleged lobbed grenade at Jammu bus stand, killing two and injuring more than 30 people. The accused alleged carried explosive in a lunch box and concealed it under rice. The minor, a resident of Kulgam, was arrested at Nagrota checkpoint, while he was trying to return to his home in south Kashmir.
