Jammu and Kashmir: Two IAF Personnel Killed in Awantipora Road Accident

A vehicle carrying Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel met with an accident in the wee hours on Thursday. The incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

Awantipora, April 4: A vehicle carrying Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel met with an accident in the wee hours on Thursday. The incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora area of Pulwama district. According to the news agency ANI, two air force officers were killed in the road accident. Two IAF officials were also injured.

Some reports state that the accident took place near Malangpora area outside air force station resulting into death of two air force officers. The deceased have been identified as Squadron Leader Rakesh Pandey and Corporal Ajay Kumar. Meanwhile, Vaishno Devi was put on high alert after the suspicious movement was reported near Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station. According to reports, two suspected militants were spotted at the railway station.  Check posts have been installed in various places. Police officials have started patrolling and a search operation has been launched.
