Jammu And Kashmir: Three Terrorists Gunned Down Along LoC in Taghdar Sector Of Kupwara District

In a major breakthrough for security forces, three terrorists have been gunned down in Taghdar sector along the Line of Control (LoC) Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Kupwara, August 18: In a major breakthrough for security forces, three terrorists have been gunned down in Taghdar sector along the Line of Control (LoC) Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday. Yesterday, an Indian Amy jawan was also martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kupwara. The forces launched a cordon and search operation at Kachloo village in Handwara area following information about the presence of terrorists.

The injured jawan was evacuated to 92 Base Hospital of the Army here where he succumbed to injuries. The martyred jawan was identified as Ram Babu Sahai. In a similar incident, an army jawan Pushpendra Singh lost his life as terrorists tried to infiltrate into the India side of the LoC in Tanghdar sector. The gunfight broke after Indian security forces detected a suspicious movement along the LoC.

Meanwhile, on August 7, Indian Army personnel including a major-rank officer have been martyred in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gurez sector. Four terrorists were also be killed by the security forces, who had launched combing operation in the area. In 2018, around 130 terrorists have been killed by the security forces in the Kashmir Valley, while more than 50 security personnel lost their lives.
