Jammu And Kashmir: Terrorists Kill Forest Department Official in Baramulla's Tangmarg Area; Police Suspect LeT Involvement

A forest department official was shot dead by terrorists at his residence in Tangmarg area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Thursday evening.

Baramulla, August 23: A forest department official was shot dead by terrorists at his residence in Tangmarg area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as forty-five-year-old Tariq Ahmad Malik. He was a resident of Zandpal area of Tangmarg.

Police have registered a case and initial investigation reveals the involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Yousuf Dar alias Kantroo. Malik was shot when he was offering prayers inside his kitchen. Later, he succumbed to his injuries. Malik was an employee in the forest department. His body has been taken to sub-district hospital in the area.

Yesterday, terrorist killed three police personnel in separate attacks. Inspector Mohammed Ashraf Dar was shot dead at his residence in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, while Constable Mohammed Yaqoob was killed in Pulwama in the evening. In the third attack, 34-year-old constable Fayaz Ahmad Shah was shot dead outside an Eidgah in Kulgam's Zazripora when he was returning home after offering Eid prayers.

Similarly, on June 14, An Indian Army Rifleman, Aurangzeb Khan was killed by terrorists in Pulwama when he was on his way to him for celebrating Eid in Poonch. He was reportedly shot in his head and neck.
