Jammu, July 30: Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag town on Monday. According to reports, the militants hurled a grenade at CRPF bunker in Sherbagh area on Monday evening. Reports inform that the injured personnel were taken to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. More details on the incident are awaited.
"Three CRPF jawans injured in this explosion have been shifted to hospital and the area has been cordoned off for searches," the officer added. Reports inform that forces are carrying out a search operation in the area. The area has been cordoned off.
In the last week, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in an encounter in Anantnag district. In his reply in Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir informed that house that 100 militants and 43 security personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir in the first six months of this year.
