Srinagar, April 26: A policeman was injured in an exchange of firing between terrorists and police personnel in Chanpora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, officials said on Friday. The injured policeman sustained injured and has been shifted to hospital. Meanwhile, the area has been cordon and search operation is initiated.
On Thursday, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in a brief gunfight in Kashmir's Anantnag district. The exchange of firing between the terrorists and security forces took place in Bagender Mohalla of Bijbehara. The terrorists were identified as Safder Amin Bhat and Burhan Ahmad Ganie. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the site of encounter.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has gunned down around 69 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir this year in a special operation launched against terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). 12 terrorists have also been apprehended.
"Post Pulwama 41 terrorists have been killed and out of them 25 belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed, 13 of them were Pakistanis", Dhillon was quoted by ANI. According to reports, the defence forces had carried out special operations after the Pulwama terror attack which killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials.
