Jammu, October 17: Terrorists attacked a police party in Baramulla's Pattan in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. According to a tweet by ANI, two security personnel have been injured in the attack. The search operation is currently underway. Further details awaited. Earlier today, three militants and a policeman were killed during an encounter between ultras and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
The militants including a wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander. The other two militants have been identified as Fahad Waza and over ground worker Rayees, son of the house owner where the encounter took place. The encounter broke after security forces responded to the firing of militants in equal measure. Amid the heavy exchange of fire, the house, where the ultras were hiding, got destroyed. The encounter, however, prompted authorities to close down schools and snap mobile internet services. According to a report by PTI, the counter took place in the downtown area of the city following a specific intelligence input about the presence of militants there. After the encounter, clashes broke out in several parts of the old city as miscreants pelted stones at the security forces. As per details by the officials, curfew has been imposed in some pockets of the city to maintain law and order.
