Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorists Attack Army Bunker in Baramulla, Hurl Grenades on Security Forces

Reports inform that the militants attacked security forces with grenades at two separate places in Baramulla. In the first attack, the militants fired two UBGL grenades on an Army bunker near Degree College in Sopore in north Kashmir district, a police official said.

Jammu, Sep 11: Terrorists attacked an Army bunker and lobbed a hand grenade that hit the compound wall of Baramulla's Pattan police station in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.  According to details by Jammu and Kashmir Police, no injuries or damage have been reported and the area being is sanitised.

Reports inform that the militants attacked security forces with grenades at two separate places in Baramulla. In the first attack, the militants fired two UBGL grenades on an Army bunker near Degree College in Sopore in north Kashmir district, a police official said.

In the second on Tuesday evening, the militants lobbed a grenade on police station Pattan. According to a PTI report, the grenade exploded outside the police station without causing any damage.

Earlier in the day, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists have been identified as Furqan Rashid Lone alias Adil and Liyaqat Ahmad Lone alias Sahaba alias Umar Khalid.

Details by Police inform that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Galoora area of Handwara after specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
