Budgam, June 28: Security forces on Friday neutralised one terrorist in an encounter which broke out in Kralpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district. Meanwhile, the identity of the slain terrorist is yet to be ascertained. The firing has been stopped and the security forces have launched a search operation. According to reports, the encounter broke out after security forces cordoned off the area following the information of presence of terrorists in the area. More details on the operation are still underway.
Budgam encounter took place two days after the security forces gunned down one terrorist in a gun-battle in Pulwama district on June 26. He was identified as Shabir Ahmad Malik from Nagbal Tral. As per the police records, he was initially affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and later on, he was part of Zakir Musa group. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the slain terrorist.
