Shopian, May 5: A petrol bomb was hurled on Monday at a polling station in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district. The person who is responsible for the attack is not yet identified. According to reports, the petrol bomb was thrown at a polling booth stationed at a Government Higher Secondary School for Boys, Shopian which exploded outside. Jammu And Kashmir Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Phase 5 Voting Ends For Anantnag And Ladakh Parliamentary Constituencies.

In the incident, no casualties or injuries were reported yet. The security in the nearby polling booths has been increased. In the fifth phase of the seven-phased Lok Sabha Elections, two parliamentary constituencies of Ladakh and Anantnag went to poll on Monday. A total of 22 candidates are in the fray in the fifth phase of elections in the state. A total of 1,254 polling booth were set up across the two Lok Sabha constituencies. The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
