Jammu And Kashmir: Police Arrest Two Terrorists From Bandipora District; Arms & Ammunition Recovered

Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested two terrorists from Bandipora district. A joint operation was carried out by police and para-military personnel. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists.

Bandipora, July 25: Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday arrested two terrorists from Bandipora district. A joint operation was carried out by police and para-military personnel. The accused has been identified as Mohd Saleem Gojer Banyia from Bandipora and Mohd Iqbal Khatana from Rajouri. As per reports, they were involved in facilitating infiltration and providing logistic support to terrorists. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

All the indiscriminating material recovered from the terrorists has been taken into case records for investigation. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at the Bandipora police station.

Meanwhile, on July 24, Minister of State (MoS) for home G Kishan Reddy in the Rajya Sabha said that a total of 126 terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir until July 14 this year, while 75 security forces personnel were also martyred in gunfights with terrorists during the same period. He also informed the house that net infiltration has reduced by 43 percent.
