Jammu And Kashmir: Pakistan Violates Ceasefire in Rajouri's Nowshera Sector; Indian Army Retaliates Strongly

Pakistan on Sunday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. According to reports, Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at around 6:45 pm. The Indian Army is retaliating strongly.

Rajouri, August 18: Pakistan on Sunday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. According to reports, Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing at around 6:45 pm. The Indian Army is retaliating strongly. However, there are no reports of any casualties or injuries. It is the second incident of ceasefire violation in the last 24 hours. On Saturday, Indian Army's Lance Naik Sandeep Thapa was martyred in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Nowshera Sector. The Indian security forces stated that the firing began at around 6:30 am in which Pakistan initiated unprovoked firing with small arms and mortar shells.

Earlier in the day, last rites of Lance Naik Thapa was performed at his residence in Rajawala village of Dehradun with full military honours. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and other top political leaders of the state paid tribute to the martyr.
