The infant, his mother and another civilian were injured when the mortar shelled by Pakistan forces hit their village. The infant was rushed to a government hospital, where the baby succumbed to injuries.
On Jule 22, an Indian Army soldier was martyred in cross border firing in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, while a villager was also injured in another incident of Pakistani ceasefire violation in Poonch sector on July 20.
