Jammu And Kashmir: Pakistan Violates Ceasefire in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch, Indian Army Retaliates

Pakistan on Thursday violated ceasefire in Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. Pakistani troops opened fire at Indian post at around 3:45 pm. The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s aggression.

Poonch, December 26: Pakistan on Thursday violated ceasefire in Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. Pakistani troops opened fire at Indian post at around 3:45 pm.  The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s aggression. Till now, there are no reports on casualties from any side. It is the second incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in two days. On Wednesday also, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in the Uri sector. In the ceasefire violation, one Indian Army soldier was martyred. A civilian was also killed in the cross-border firing by Pakistan. The deceased woman was identified as 22-year-old Naseema Begum. In the Indian Army’s retaliation, two Pakistani soldiers were killed.

Earlier this month, the government revealed that 950 incidents of ceasefire violation were reported along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jammu and Kashmir region from August to October, 2019. Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik told the Rajya Sabha that the Indian Army had appropriately retaliated to the ceasefire violations whenever required.
