Pakistan on Thursday violated ceasefire in Sunderbani sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Pakistani troops resorted to firing along the Line of Control (LoC) at 8:45 pm. The cross border firing is currently under, and the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply.

It is the third incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the last three days. On Wednesday also, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy shelling in the same sector of Rajouri district. Meanwhile, on Tuesday an Army soldier was martyred in the cross border firing along the LoC in Krishan Ghati area of Poonch district. The martyred soldier was identified as Naik Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh. Four other soldiers were also injured in the cross border skirmish. The Indian Army also lost Lance Naik Sandeep Thapamin the ceasefire violation in Nowshera district on August 17.
Till June 30, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire 1,248 times along the LoC, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in reply to a question in Rajya Sabha during the recently concluded Monsoon Session of Parliament. Meanwhile, in the month of March alone, 267 ceasefire violations took place.
