Jammu And Kashmir: Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Again in Nowshera Days After Pulwama Attack, Indian Army Retaliates
Pakistani forces targetted Indian posts along the LoC in at Sehar, Namb and Bhawani areas in Rajouri.
Srinagar, February 19: On a day when Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan talked about peace, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control at the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. This is the second incident of ceasefire violation in Rajouri since the attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama on February 14. The Indian Army retaliated and an exchange of fire was continuing in the area.
Pakistani forces targetted Indian posts along the LoC in at Sehar, Namb and Bhawani areas. Pakistani soldiers initiated firing from small arms and fired automatic and mortar shells. They violated ceasefire and fired at Indian posts in Rajouri district on February 16. An Indian soldier was injured in the unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops. The ceasefire violation by Pakistan followed an IED blast in the same sector in which an Army major was martyred.
In the worst ever terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir since militancy erupted in 1989, a terrorist of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed Adil Ahmed Dar on February 14 rammed his vehicle packed with explosives into a CRPF bus, killing at least 40 troopers on the spot. Earlier today, Imran Khan said the Indian government blamed Pakistan for the February 14 attack without any evidence.
In a televised address, Khan also said Pakistan will certainly retaliate if India declares war after the suicide bombing in Kashmir, without condemning the Pulwama attack. "If you (Indian government) think you will attack us and we will not think of retaliating, we will retaliate. We will have no other option other than retaliating. We all know starting a war is in the hands of humans, where it will lead us, only God knows," a sombre Khan said.
Denying Islamabad's involvement in the bombing, the Pakistani leader said: "India is in an election year and we know that speaking of attacking Pakistan is a popular move." India's Ministry of External Affairs called Khan's demand for proof of Pakistan's involvement in terror activities a lame excuse.
