Poonch, January 1: A day after Indian Army foiled a major intrusion attempt by Border Action Team (BAT) to strike a forward post along LoC in Naugam Sector in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan violates ceasefire in Khari Karmara area of Poonch district on Tuesday. The security forces have taken control over the situation and are giving them a befitting reply.

Earlier on Monday, Indian Army informed that intruders – backed by heavy covering fire of high calibre weapons from Pakistani posts – attempted to move by exploiting thick jungles close to LoC, but it was foiled. The security forces even gunned down two intruders. Jammu And Kashmir: Indian Army Foils Pakistan's BAT Attack in Naugam, Kills Two Intruders.

According to the statement of the Army, the intruders were wearing combat dresses like regulars Pakistani armed forces and carrying stores with Pakistani markings. Also, some of them were dressed in BSF and old pattern of Indian Army dresses, and it is speculated that the intruders were intended to carry out a gruesome attack on the Indian Army.

In last week of 2018, the Indian Army gunned down four militants in an encounter in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Also, in previous encounters too, militants were neutralised by the security forces.
