Jammu, November 2: One terrorist was killed in joint operations in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, the Northern Command, Indian Army informed. The incident comes a day after two terrorists were killed in a brief shootout with security forces in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday, two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed and a soldier was injured after the encounter broke out in Budgam. The security forces launched a search operation based on credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in Zagoo locality of Khansahib area of the district,” a police official said.

According to a PTI report, the slain militants were identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, a resident of Arizal in Budgam and Mohammad Amin Mir of Pampore in Pulwama district. Meanwhile, the injured jawan is stated to be stable. The police has registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
