Jammu And Kashmir: One Terrorist Gunned Down by Security Forces in Baramulla Encounter

A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Baramulla, April 20: A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday. The gunfight took place at Watergam town of the district. According to reports, some weapons and war-like stores were recovered from the site.

However, the identity of the terrorists is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, no security personnel was injured in the encounter. More details are still awaited. Last week, security forces neutralised two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in an encounter in Gahand Harmain village in South Kashmir's Shopian district.

Search operation was launched by a joint team of 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after receiving a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area. Jammu and Kashmir Encounters: 6 Terrorists, 12-Year-Old Boy Killed in 3 Separate Gunfights.

The terrorists were identified as Abid Wagay resident of Rawalpora Shopian and Shahjahan Mir resident of Amshepora Shopian. Earlier on March 22, six terrorists were gunned down by security forces in three separate gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir.
