Jammu And Kashmir: One Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorist Gunned Down In Pulwama Encounter; Security Forces Launches Search Operation

In another encounter on Sunday, the security forces have gunned down a terrorist in Khrew of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. The slain terrorist was affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Pulwama, November 25: In another encounter on Sunday, the security forces gunned down a terrorist in Khrew of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. The slain terrorist was affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He was identified as Waseem. The forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation. A huge amount of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorist. It is the sixth such incident in a week.

Earlier in the day, six terrorists were killed by the security forces during an encounter that broke out today, on Sunday morning. The encounter took place in Kapran Batagund area, Shopian district. However, one soldier was also martyred in the encounter. He was identified as Naik Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Kulgam district. Out of the six terrorists killed, four of them belong to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and the rest to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). According to the state police, both the district commanders of HM and Lashkar have been killed.

On November 23 also, security forces neutralised six terrorists in Sekipura area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter came a day after terrorists attacked Rashtriya Rifles camp in Kupwara, injuring one woman. On Tuesday, terrorists engaged in a gunfight with the security forces in Shopian district of South Kashmir, and four of them were killed. Till now, close to 250 terrorists were gunned down by the security forces in the Kashmir Valley in 2018.
