Srinagar, December 28: The Home department of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday replaced senior IPS SP Pani from the post of Inspector General of Police with another senior IPS Vijay Kumar. Pani has been transferred as IGP (Armed) Kashmir in place of Kumar and the vice versa. Apart from this, senior IPS Muneer Ahmad Khan has been appointed as new Director of SSG for Jammu and Kashmir, upon retirement of Surinder Kumar Gupta.
Informing about the shift in charge and new appointments, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir said that the transfers and postings have been ordered with immediate effect in the interest of the administration. According to the latest circular, IPS Vijay Kumar belongs to the JK 1997 batch and is considered to a terrific officer with such simplicity, having served with CRPF in Maoist red corridor. Recently, Girish Chandra Murmu had been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir.
