Shopian, March 6: The Indian armed forces on Wednesday busted a terrorist hideout in Kungnoo village of Shopian district in South Kashmir. The action was taken after a tip-off, and joint forces of Shopian Police and 44 RR started their operation. In the operation, substantial incriminating material and other items were recovered, informed the police.

Informing more, Shopian SSP Sandeep Chaudhary took to Twitter and informed about the busting of the terrorist hideout in the region. He said that officers from the local unit are investigating the matter. Jammu and Kashmir: India, Pakistan Exchange Heavy Firing on LoC in Rajouri District.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir police have issued a notice, warning the citizens not to visit any encounter site until the site is sanitized by the bomb disposal team. It further added that the site may contain IEDs, unexploded grenades, live ammunition and live inflammable items which could be fatal. Urging cooperation, it said. “We seek cooperation of people in this regard for avoiding accidents of such nature.”

In the morning on Wednesday, Indian and Pakistani armies exchanged heavy fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district till early hours. The Pakistan Army used mortar shelling and small arms as they resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Sunderbani sector from around 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
