Baramulla, September 7: The body of the 9-year-old girl, who was gang-raped, brutally murdered in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, was exhumed on Friday for some medical and legal analysis. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, a team of doctors including experts in forensic medicine from government medical college (GMC), Srinagar was also present as the body was exhumed in Boniyar.

The girl’s body was then taken to the district hospital for medical procedures. The father of the victim was also present at the spot. After the medical procedures, the body was again buried at its original place.

The girl was allegedly gang-raped and brutally murdered at the behest of her stepmother in August. Five people were arrested in connection with the case. According to media reports, she was killed with an axe her eyes were gouged out and acid was thrown on her private parts and chest. Among those arrested were the stepmother and stepbrother of the victim and three others including two minors.
