Srinagar, August 27: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday evening announced that from Wednesday onwards high schools would be opened in the Valley. The authorities informed that only the schools in areas where restrictions have been removed would be opened. Earlier, the restrictions were imposed on August 4, a day before the Article 370 was abrogated from Jammu and Kashmir, and it was segregated into two Union territories. Informing more about the recent announcement, Director of Information & Public Relations Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Sehrish Asgar, said, as quoted by news agency ANI, "We had already declared primary and middle schools open, from tomorrow we are declaring open High schools in all those areas where restrictions have been removed."

Adding more, Asgar stated, "Over the last one week there is a significant improvement in attendance of teaching staff (in primary, middle schools), we are making our best efforts to improve the attendance of students, and it is gradually improving." Earlier, the administration had announced to open primary and middle schools, after partial restrictions were lifted in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
