Srinagar, April 30: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik’s Twitter handle was hacked on Tuesday by some mischievous elements. The hacked account showed it follows Pakistan PM Imran Khan's Twitter handle. However, necessary corrections were made, and Khan's handle was unfollowed. A Raj Bhawan said, “It was noticed today that the Governor J&K’s Twitter handle was hacked by some mischievous elements and he was shown as a follower of Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan Twitter Handle.” BJP Website Hacked; Abusive Words, Error Message Appear on www.bjp.org.

The matter has been reported to Jammu and Kashmir Police to take necessary follow up action as per law and find out who the miscreants are. Former chief minister of the state, Omar Abdullah reacted immediately to the matter. He tweeted, “Very kind “hacker”. He/she only used his/her access to follow Imran Khan & then quietly left the account access untouched. Raj Bhavan was able to immediately undo this one change. Omar Abdullah's Tweet:

“The cyber cell is looking into the hacking of Governor’s twitter handle. The progress made into the investigations will be shared later,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Jammu district SSP Tejinder Singh as saying.

Last year, the official website of Ministry of Defence of India, mod.gov.in was also hacked. Later, Law ministry, Labour and Home Ministry websites were also found to be hacked and down. As per reports by ANI, Chinese characters appeared on the website home page. On visiting the website, it displayed an 'error' message and asked users to 'try again later'. As per reports, the National Informatics Centre to probe the issue.
