Srinagar, October 21: A day after the Indian Army said that it targetted terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said that more such attacks will be carried out if terrorists won't budge. Speaking to reporters, Governor Satya Pal Malik said that India will "completely destroy" terror camps (in Pakistan) and "go inside" again if Pakistani terrorists don't stop anti-India activities.
"We will completely destroy terror camps (in Pakistan). If they don't budge, we will go inside," Malik told reporters. Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Sunday said that the armed forces hit four terror launch pads in PoK in retaliatory artillery fire following the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. A number of terrorists and Pakistani soldiers were killed in the Indian attacks, General Rawat said.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik's Statement:
"We had information that terror camps are operating in PoK in areas opposite Keran, Tangdhar and Nowgam sectors which we call the Leepa valley. These were targeted. At least 6-10 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attack. A similar number of terrorists have also been killed," General Rawat told the media. The Army Chief added that more details would be shared in the coming days. Pakistani forces, however, rejected India's claim.
In August, during a debate on Article 370, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Jammu and Kashmir was an inseparable part of India and both Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin were very much a part of the whole entity. Shah said that BJP leaders will give up their lives to secure PoK and added that whenever he mentions Jammu and Kashmir, it includes the areas held by Pakistan and China.
Since then, the chorus is growing for taking back the PoK. In September, Union Minister Jitendra Singh had said that the integration of the PoK into India is now next on agenda of the Modi government.
