Jammu, June 29: An encounter between terrorists and security forces is underway in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. According to a recent tweet by ANI, the encounter took place in Chatapora where terrorists have reportedly been trapped in a residential building. More details on the same are awaited.
Earlier today, security forces gunned down an unidentified militant in an encounter in the forests of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Currently, the identity and group affiliation of the slain militant is not known.
An army official was quoted by PTI saying that security forces launched a search operation in the forest area of Trehgam in Kupwara following information about the presence of militants there. The security forces have called off the operation.
In a separate incident, an Army personnel was injured after terrorists lobbed a grenade at an Army patrolling party in Shopian's Ahgam area. The security forces later, cordoned off the area and a search operation was launched.
