Jammu, January 21: Two terrorists were gunned down after an encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The encounter between the forces and the third terrorist is currently underway. According to a tweet by ANI, the gunfight broke out in Zinpanchal, Chari Sharief region in Budgam. Reports inform that 53 Rashtriya Rifles, Budgam police and CRPF are at the operation.

According to details by Police, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hapatnaar area of Budgam District following inputs about the presence of militants in the area. No casualties have been reported so far in the encounter. On Sunday, Pakistan violated ceasefire along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. They resorting to small arms firing on the forward Indian posts. According to a report by PTI, no casualty was reported on the Indian side in the brief exchange of fire. In the last week, Assistant Commandant Vinay Prasad of the Border Security Force (BSF) was killed when he was hit by a Pakistani sniper from across the International Border.
