Srinagar, January 8: Clashes broke out on Tuesday near the site of a shootout in which the Army killed a militant, in Pulwama district, police said.

The police said clashes erupted between stone-pelting youth and the security forces near the shootout site where a cordon-and-search operation was going on. "Security forces used tear smoke and pellets to quell the mob that also torched a load carrier in the area during clashes," the police said.
