Jammu, October 27: Terrorists lobbed a grenade on a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) ASI in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Saturday. According to a tweet by ANI, the CISF ASI  was deployed for security of a power grid at Wagoora Nowgam in Srinagar late on Friday night. The ASI identified as Rajesh Kumar lost his life in the incident. The area has been cordoned off.

On Friday, an Indian Army soldier was martyred in an attack by terrorists on 42 Rashtriya Rifles' camp at Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. A gunfight between militants and security forces broke out after terrorists opened fire upon the army camp at around 8:35 pm. Out of the two soldiers injured, one succumbed to the injuries. The martyred soldier has been identified as Sepoy NG Leena.

Earlier this week, two militants, one of them an M.Phil degree holder, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Nowgam area in the outskirts of the city on Wednesday. In what is believed to be a major blow to the banned Hizbul Mujahideen terror group, the slain militants have been identified as Sabzar Ahmad Sofi, an M.Phil scholar who had joined the militant ranks, and Asif Ahmad. Jammu And Kashmir: Two Terrorists Gunned Down in Encounter at Baramulla. 

According to a report by PTI, an AMU scholar-turned-militant Manaan Bashir Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir Kupwara district earlier this month. In the encounter, an assistant professor from Kashmir University, identified as Mohammad Rafi Bhat, was also killed in a gunfight in Shopian district.
