New Delhi, August 6: Prime Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed happiness after Parliament gave its nod for bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and adopted resolutions to revoke the special status of the state under Article 370 and Article 35A. In a series of tweet, PM Narendra Modi termed the passing of the bill as a momentous occasion. Jammu And Kashmir Loses Special Status Under Article 370, Becomes Union Territory Along With Ladakh.

He tweeted, “Together we are, together we shall rise and together we will fulfil the dreams of 130 crore Indians! A momentous occasion in our Parliamentary democracy, where landmark bills pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir have been passed with overwhelming support!”

PM Modi Appreciates People of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir:

PM Modi said that the bill giving the approval to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories will ensure integration and empowerment of the country. He added, “These steps will bring the youth into the mainstream and give them innumerable opportunities to showcase their skills and talents. Local infrastructure will significantly improve.”

PM Modi also stated that the passage of the key bills pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir is a befitting tribute to India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Baba Sahib Ambedkar and SP Mookerjee. PM Tweeted, “The passage of key Bills pertaining to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh is a fitting tribute to the great Sardar Patel, who worked for India’s unity, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, whose views are well known and Dr SP Mookerjee who devoted his life for India’s unity and integrity.”

In one his tweets, PM Modi applauded Home Minister Amit Shah for his commitment for the passage of these bills. He wrote, “Our Home Minister @AmitShah Ji has been continuously working towards ensuring a better life for the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. His commitment and diligence is clearly visible in the passage of these Bills. I would like to specially congratulate Amit Bhai!”

PM Modi Applauds Amit Shah:

The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019 paving way for the bifurcation of the state into two Union territories (UTs). The bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Both the houses of Parliament also adopted a resolution to scrap the provision of Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
