Jammu And Kashmir: Army Jawan Martyred in Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan Along LoC in Poonch
In another ceasefire violation by Pakistan across the Line of Control (LoC), An Indian army soldier was killed while another injured in a sniper attack by Pakistani forces in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector.
Poonch, November 12: In another ceasefire violation by Pakistan across the Line of Control (LoC), an Indian Army soldier was killed while another injured in a sniper attack by Pakistani forces in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The deceased soldier has been identified as Lance Naik Antony Sebastian KM. The injured soldier has been shifted to a hospital. This is second death due to sniper attack in the last 24 hours and fourth in the last three days. Meanwhile, yesterday, an army soldier was killed by a Pakistani sniper along the Line of Control in Rajouri district. According to reports, the soldier was manning a forward post in Kalal area of Noushera sector when he was shot by a Pakistani sniper. The Indian troops also retaliated strongly.
Similarly, On Saturday, an army jawan was martyred during a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Sunderbani sector of the state. The soldier was identified as 21-year-old Varun Kattal, a resident of Mawa-Rajpura area of Samba district. Pakistan violated ceasefire in Sunderbani sector around 9.45 am. As per initial reports, the jawan was injured in the unprovoked firing by Pakistan but later succumbed to his injuries.
The number of ceasefire violations this year by Pakistan has been the highest in the past eight years. The first seven months of this year saw 52 deaths and 232 people getting injured in 1,435 ceasefire violations in the state, according to an RTI reply by the Home Ministry.
