Srinagar, November 13: Security forces on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) and gunned down a Pakistani intruder in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor.

A heavily-armed Pakistani terrorist was eliminated in Akhnoor sector on the Indian side of the boundary, Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand told news agency IANS.

"An ambush party killed a terrorist and recovered warlike stores including five pistols, 10 pistol magazines, 60 bullets of pistol, an AK assault rifle, two AK rifle magazines with 234 rounds of ammunition, 15 grenades and 12 fuses for IEDs," the official said.

"This huge cache has scuttled the nefarious plans of the terrorist outfits to derail peace and harmony and disrupt the coming panchayat elections in the state," he added.
