Sopore, September 9: In a major breakthrough for Jammu and Kashmir Police, a total of eight members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested in Sopore district on Monday. The overground workers of the terror organisation reportedly distributed pamphlets, forcing traders of the area not to open their commercial establishments. The investigation is currently underway. According to a report published in Times Now, the arrested suspects are believed to be behind the terror attack which took place last week in Dangerpora area of Sopore district.  Four people, including a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, were injured in the attack.

The girl was identified as Usman Jaan. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Saturday ordered to shift the girl to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Last week, posters surfaced at several places outside local mosques in North and South Kashmir districts threatening traders of the Kashmir valley against resuming their business. The posters were reportedly put up by terror outfits like Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) and LeT.

The Kashmir Valley continues to remain on the edge after the Narendra Modi government scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by revoking article 370.  A communication blockade has been imposed by the government to avoid casualties by preventing the mobilisation of protesting groups.
