Jammu and Kashmir: 4 Security Personnel Martyred In Encounter With Terrorists In Kupwara district
Four Indian Army Jawans were killed on Friday in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Kupwara, February 3: Four Security personnel, including an officer, were martyred and eight injured on Friday in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. In the encounter, two terrorists were also killed. Security forces launched search and cordon operation in Babagund area of Kupwara following the intelligence report on the presence of terrorists. During the searches, the terrorists open fire on the security forces, who got strong retaliation from the defence forces. According to reports, Inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), a Jawan and two policemen died after firing recommenced during an anti-terrorism operation (ATO). Four persons were also wounded in clashes between a group of youngsters and security personnel near the encounter site, the officials said. In the latest, ceasefire violation by Pakistan was reported along the Line of Control in Mendhar, Balakote and Krishna Ghati sectors at 1800 hours Today.
