'Jaish-e-Mohammed Training Recruits For Underwater Attack, Indian Navy on High Alert', Says Naval Chief Admiral Karambir Singh
Indian Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh on Monday said that Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed is giving underwater training to its recruitment to carry out an attack on India. He further added that after the 26/11 Mumbai attack, the Indian Navy had set up coastal security.
Pune, August 26: Indian Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh on Monday said that Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed is giving underwater training to its recruits to carry out an attack on India. The naval chief, during a media interaction in Pune, said, “We have received intelligence that the underwater wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed is being trained. We are keeping a track of it and we assure you that we are fully alert.” CNS Admiral Karambir Singh Visits Western Naval Command.
Admiral Singh’s Statement:
He further added that after the 26/11 Mumbai attack, the Indian Navy had set up coastal security. He stated that the Navy is overall in-charge of maritime security including coastal security along with coast guard. The naval chief also said that the force is observing Chinese movement in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). On Monday, Admiral Singh delivered a lecture on the topic “Indian Ocean – Changing Dynamic – Maritime Security Imperatives for India”. The event was a part of the series held in the memory of the 17th Chief of Army Staff, late General BC Joshi.
