Jaipur, September 9: A horrifying incident occurred on Thursday, on the night of Janmashtami in Rajasthan's Jaipur, when a man from Norway jumped over the balcony of his hotel. People in Jaipur were celebrating Janmashtami during the night by lighting fireworks and crackers. The bewildered Norwegian man mistook the sound of a firework for gunfire that was being fired close to the hotel where he was staying. The international traveller leapt off the hotel room's balcony to protect himself from the gunfire.
According to TOI, the incident took place at night while the Norwegian national identified as Noe Finn Vetle was under the influence of bhang. Vetle, who was high on marijuana, leapt from the third-floor balcony of the hotel. He was hospitalised after suffering significant injuries and is now undergoing medical care. He shattered his hand after falling over the hotel's balcony, according to the police. Following a police call from the hotel personnel, the Norwegian national was taken by officers and checked into Jaipuria Hospital. About three months prior, Vetle had travelled to India. Vetle arrived in the nation to partake in yoga classes. He is a native of Namsos, a town in Norway. After receiving Vetle's statement, the police opened an investigation. The police also looked into the hotel's and the neighborhood's CCTV video. The police said that they had not discovered any instances of gunfire in the neighbourhood. To determine whether there were actual gunshots fired inside the hotel, more investigation is being done.
