Jagdish Lohankar, Former ACP, Joins Raj Thackeray's MNS, Likely to Contest Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 From Kalyan

Former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jagdish Lohankar joined Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNA) in Kalyan. Lohankar, also known as 'Dabang officer', is likely to contest Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 from Kalyan (East) seat.

Mumbai, September 2019: Former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jagdish Lohankar on Thursday joined Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNA) in Kalyan. Lohankar, also known as 'Dabang officer', is likely to contest Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 from Kalyan (East) seat, The Times of India reported. Lohankar joined Raj Thackeray's party on Thursday in presence of senior party leaders like Ulhas Bhoir, Kaha Mandale and Kaustubh Desai. MNS is likely to contest around 130 of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Elections 2019. The party can contest seats in Mumbai, Thane, Dombivali, Kalyan, Pune, Nashik and Marathwada region, where it has sizeable voters.

Meanwhile, the elections in the state will take place on October 21 in a single phase. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 24. Final results will be declared on the same day. According to Election Commission of India (ECI), the strength of the registered electorate in Maharashtra is 8.94 crore.
