Sriharikota, November 29: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is ready to launch its much-awaited PSLV-C43 mission, carrying India's newest Earth observation satellite (HySIS) and 30 other commercial satellites. The commercial satellites that are on board the PSLV-C43 include 23 from the United States. While the launch is scheduled to take place at 09:58 am on November 29, the historic event will be live telecasted on DD National at 09:30 am (IST). According to details by ISRO, the HysIS, an earth observation satellite developed by India, is the primary satellite of the PSLV-C43 mission. The mass of the spacecraft is about 380 kg while the mission life of the satellite is 5 years. ISRO’s First Unmanned Mission Under Gaganyaan Programme Planned for December 2020.
The satellite will be placed in 636 km polar sun-synchronous orbit with an inclination of 97.957 degree. The primary goal of HysIS is to study the earth’s surface in visible, near infrared and shortwave infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
