ISIS Suspects Planned 'Mass Killings', One of Them Linked to Dawood Ibrahim: Maharashtra ATS
According to ATS, the arrested youths were planning a mass killing by mixing poison in food and drinks at some gathering.
Mumbai, January 23: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday arrested nine people, four from Aurangabad and five from Mumba, for alleged links with terror outfit ISIS. According to ATS, they were planning a mass killing by mixing poison in food and drinks at some gathering. The arrested had formed an organisation 'Ummat-E-Muhammadiya.' Out of the 9 arrested, one is the son of Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Rashid Malbari. During the probe, ATS seized several labelled bottles with different chemical names. The chemicals are yet to be tested to know their chemical properties. ATS has also seized electronic items including 6 pen drives, over 6 laptops, over 24 cell phones, 6 wifi pods, over 24 CDs and DVDs, over 12 hard drives and 6 memory cards. "The arrested people were in touch with someone from ISIS, based out of India," ATS added, it is yet to be ascertained who he is. Most of the arrested people are well qualified, 2 are engineers, 1 is pursuing engineering, 1 is a Pharmacist and one is in class 11."
These nine people were detained after a 'reliable information' said, ATS adding, that they have been monitoring the activities of nine youths from a brief period of time and suspected that they worked in sleeper cells of a terror organisation.
