ISI Agent Arrested From BrahMos Missile Unit In Maharashtra's Nagpur

Nagpur, October 8: An Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent has been arrested from the sensitive BrahMos missile unit in Maharashtra's Nagpur. The arrested agent was used to work at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) facility and leaked information to the ISI. The agent has been identified as Nishant Aggarwal. The police are carrying out an investigation. Aggarwal was tracked after a crackdown by Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) this year.
In September, the UP ATS arrested an alleged terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen from Kanpur. The accused had plans to carry out terror activities on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Similarly, in May The Indian Army Intelligence and the UP ATS arrested an ISI agent from Didihat area of Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh. The arrested agent was identified as Ramesh Kanyal.
On September 19, a BSF jawan from Noida was also arrested on the charge of sharing vital information with Pakistan ISI agents. Achutanand Misra, hailing from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, was "honey-trapped" into sharing information about unit operational details. Meanwhile, last year in March, a suspected terrorist, Saifullah, was killed in an encounter with the ATS officers. Saifullah, who is said to be behind the Ujjain train blast, was killed in a house on the outskirts of Lucknow after a 12-hour long operation.
BrahMos is a joint venture between the DRDO and the NPOM of Russia. It is the world's fastest supersonic missile and can cruise at speeds of up to Mach 3.0, or three times the speed of sound.
