The ongoing Vishwa Hindu Congress held at Chicago had love jihad as one of its topic and actress Sharmila Tagore's marriage to legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was cited as an example of love jihad. According to media reports, Saif Ali Khan's marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan was also discussed as an example of love jihad and religious conversion. Also present at the occasion was RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. Bhagwat, speaking at the occasion, said that "even wild dogs can hunt the royal Tiger (of Bengal) if the tiger roams alone," said RSS chief Bhagwat and added that Hindus all over should unite. Even a poster at the event venue had a photo of Sharmila Tagore which spoke about love jihad. Dilip Amin of the RSS, who has also written a book on the topic of love jihad, reportedly told the the audience about Sharmila Tagore's marriage to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the legendary cricketer and Saif Ali Khan's marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan and said that the actresses converted to Islam following their marriage. The World Hindu Congress is held to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekanand's speech at Chigaco at the World Religion Congress. According to reports, the Hindu Congress is being held from September 7 to 9 this year, and more than 2,500 representatives from over 80 countries have participated in the event.
