New Delhi, Sep 24: Irked over a T-shirt he received as a gift from the employer for foiling a robbery bid, a man fled with Rs 70 lakh. According to the Delhi police, the accused Dhan Singh Bisht was unhappy with the gift. His employer had refused him a loan which angered Bisht further. He then along with his friend, identified as Yakub, hatched a plan to rob his employer.

Bisht was carrying Rs 80 lakh of his employer when some men tried to rob him. He single-handedly fought with them and managed to save the cash. He received severe injuries in the fight. Bisht was expecting a cash reward, but his employer gave him a T-shirt as a gift. The injuries left him bed-ridden for days. To take revenge, Bisht decided to rob his employer.

Bisht was drinking with Yakub when he decided to run away with the money the next time his employer gave him cash to deposit. The employer sent Bisht to collect Rs 70 lakh from a customer. Bisht fled with the amount to Nainital. Yakub deposited the sum in a bank at Model Town. After dropping Bisht at Nainital, Yakub had returned to Delhi with Rs 4 lakh to remove any evidence of the crime.

Police arrested Yakub while he was planning to go back to Nainital. "Initially, he tried to mislead us, but later admitted to having received Rs 4 lakh from Bisht for carrying out the plan. Cops found Rs 3 lakh deposited in his bank account," additional commissioner Rajiv Ranjan told Times of India.
