A man in Uttar Pradesh has reached the excise department to complain against a liquor shop owner after he found an insect in a sealed bottle of whisky from the shop.
Lucknow, October 2: A man in Uttar Pradesh has reached the excise department to complain against a liquor shop owner after he found an insect in a sealed bottle of whisky from the shop. According to reports, the complainant bought a bottle of foreign branded whisky from the shop of Siddharth Gupta in Shahjahanpur. The consumer complained to the excise department after the shop owner allegedly misbehaved with him. While the excise department has begun an inquiry, the shop owner has claimed that the man has no bill and that the bottle wasn't bought from his shop. This comes at a time when there have been several cases of spurious liquor in the state of Uttar Pradesh this year. In January this year, two people were killed and three were admitted to the hospital after consuming illicit liquor in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.
Just last month, an illegal liquor manufacturing unit was busted in Ghaziabad's Tronica City, following which four persons were arrested and three policemen suspended. In August, at least five lost their lives after allegedly consuming illicit liquor in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district.
