Bengaluru, July 7: Indra Rajwar, a resident of Pune, was detained after making a hoax bomb threat call to Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), claiming her boyfriend, identified as Mir Raza Mehdi, had explosives in his bag. Her intention was to prevent him from boarding a flight to Mumbai. The incident, which unfolded on June 26, triggered a swift response from airport authorities and police. This misguided attempt to disrupt Mehdi's travel plans led to the registration of the case and her subsequent arrest.

According to the Times of India report, the sequence of events surrounding Indra Rajwar's hoax bomb threat at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport unfolds with the initial call made on June 26. Rajwar, reportedly motivated by personal differences with her boyfriend, Mehdi, dialled the airport's helpline, alleging that Mehdi was carrying a bomb in his bag. Despite the intensive search, no explosives were found, leading authorities to categorise the call as non-specific and likely a hoax. Subsequent investigations revealed that both Rajwar and Mehdi were present at the airport, having separately booked flights to Mumbai earlier in the day, as reported by the Hindustan Times. Upon confirming the falsehood of the bomb threat and apprehending Rajwar, airport security detained her and brought her to the KIA police station for further questioning. Rajwar's detention led to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) under IPC Section 505(1)(B), which addresses statements that cause public mischief.
