Bhopal, August 8: In an unfortunate incident in Madhya Pradesh, a 19-year-old student allegedly died by suicide after a woman teacher filed a rape complaint against him. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, August 6, at the boy's home in Indore. After the incident, the teenager's family claimed that the teacher was harassing him and had threatened to implicate him in a rape case.

According to a report in the Times of India, the victim's family also alleged that the Mahila police station officials demanded INR 3 lakh to settle the case. However, the cops released the victim, Gaurav Hada, after his family paid INR 45,000. After his release, Hada and his family returned home. Gaurav's suicide came to light when his sister found him hanging. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital, Gaurav was declared dead. After the post-mortem, Gaurav's family placed his body at the Mahila police station and staged a protest. They demanded suspension of inspector Kaushalya Chouhan. After the incident spiraled, Amit Singh, Additional commissioner said that the woman teacher told cops that Gaurav had threathed to make their private videos viral on social media.

However, Gaurav's family denied this claim. Priyanka Dudve, Additional DCP said that befire the could start a probe in the case, the complainant came to the police station and claimed that both the parties had reached a compromise in the case. The woman teacher also told cops that she did not want to register an FIR. They also claimed that the complainant was blackmailing Gaurav and demanding money from him. They also alleged that the teacher stopped Gaurav from interacting with other girls. The family also told cops that Gaurav was once caught stealing money by his father, to which, he confessed to being blackmailed by the teacher.
