Indore, Sept 15: In a gruesome case of failed love leading to murder, a 25-year-old woman in Indore was stabbed to death by her disgruntled lover, after stalking her for six months.
The murder was reported on Thursday night in Indore's affluent Sanghi Colony. The accused, identified as Kamlesh Sahu, knew the victim for more than a decade.
Preliminary police enquiry revealed that Sahu had proposed Supriya Jain, the victim, nearly six years ago when they were classmates in a school in Sagar district. Jain had then refused, which compelled Sahu to slash his wrists to coerce her into acceptance.
Frightened by the incident, Jain had moved to Indore for higher studies. After six years, however, Sahu located her through Facebook. After stalking the victim for nearly six months, the police said, he approached Jain at her office as well as the residence.
On his proposal being denied, Sahu got enraged and murdered the victim by stabbing her "more than 38 times".
Sahu was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently under police custody. Jain's body has been sent for postmortem. The autopsy report is awaited.
